Halloween: Walt Disney World

Halloween at "the World" is amazing. Disney puts out the decorations, costumes, and scariness in a big way. No, in a really HUGE way!

In fact, the many weeks-long Halloween season is perhaps their most popular time for visitors.
Adding to the fun time, they bring in 11 semi-trailer loads of candy each year. Yes! 11 semi-loads! Imagine seeing those rolling down the interstate toward Orlando.

We provide just a few of the photos from the Walt Disney World Halloween experience.

One of these years, we will be able to spend a few days photographing more of the event, including the Disney parade and parade  of characters all decked out in their Halloween attire.

You'll be the first to see those pictures, right here! Hopefully, we will return soon!

Fall in Wisconsin

And here we are again, Fall in Wisconsin!

This year has not been the best for the Fall Colors as we have seen in previous years.

Of course, here in Wisconsin, especially in Door County, "leaf peeping" is big business for residents and tourists alike. Thousands travel to Door to look at the forests with their beautiful seasonal colors.

There are plenty of other Fall attractions in addition to the leaves. Pumpkin patches are everywhere, along with the usual decorations as businesses and homeowners get ready for the big holiday season - Halloween!

For those of you who aren't from Wisconsin or who can't travel here this Fall, we here at Grand Visions want to share our favorites from around the state.

Home Sausage Making

Fresh Sausages!
Ready to grill

The love of sausage and bratwurst makes it a natural to take up this food hobby by creating your own fresh supply.

Here, a fresh batch of Italian, beer brats, and Chorizo sausage is drying on the counter. A few hours of work grinding the meat, mixing in the spices, then stuffing them is "all" that it takes to make fresh brats.

Breakfast sausage is our favorite. A combination of pork, bacon, spices, and some "secret" ingredients make it special. We always enjoy a quiet Sunday morning with a hearty omelet made up of our breakfast sausage and a variety of fresh vegetables.

While making them takes time to master - flavoring and spicing, it's the grilling and eating part of the operation that we have mastered over time (and a few beers).

Welcome to our Blog!

We didn't ever believe that we would have a blog. For a brief while, we tried to talk to our friends and clients through Facebook, but found that was not pinpointed enough to our business approach and suitability to let you know what was happening in our "world".

We also found that many of you were not using Facebook -- for a variety of reasons that we won't go into here. Photography and our business will be the theme -- we will stay completely clear of politics, controversial subjects, and national and world events -- that is, unless we are taking photos at those events. It will be fun!

So here we are! Our first blog and first opportunity to share our work and keep you updated through this particular type of social media.

From time to time, we intend to show off our latest photos, travels, and creations. In the coming weeks/months, look for our special categories such as photo compositions, notecards and old family photo restorations.

Always with each blog, we will post one or more of our "new" favorite photos, like this one:

Of course, our main website is www.grandvisionphoto.com  Here, you will find our full-fledged site and a link to this blog page.

Thanks for reading! We appreciate you coming here AND we enjoy sharing with you!
